A few of the brands we will discuss

    Torqeedo

As pioneers in the field of water-based electromobility, our main sponsor for th evening, Torqeedo has set many standards since its founding, reinforcing the competitive edge their motors over all other solutions available on the market. Superior technology and revolutionary benefits are what they set out to achieve. And every product – such as electric boat motors and electric outboard motors – that Torqeedo brings to market meets both these criteria. All their drive systems operate at record overall efficiency levels, which is the most important measure of electric propulsion. This is because it determines potential boat power and range for a limited battery supply. Torqeedo offers outboards and inboards, electric motors and hybrid drive systems ranging from 0 5 to 100 kW on motor level (up to 200 kW on system level). We are proud to be showcasing the new travel XP engine at this event.

    Molabo

We are proud to welcome Martin Schwarz , from Germany, to give a special presentation on the Molabo brand of electric solutions at our green eclectic evening. MOLABO, who have won the product innovation prize at The Electro and Hybrid Marine Expo for the last two years in a row, are a pioneering force in electric mobility, and are redefining the industry with their touch-safe low-voltage electric solutions. With touch-proof voltages at 48 V, electric mobility will be rethought worldwide. Enjoy the untroubled nature and rapid acceleration of the world’s most powerful 48 V drive in your electric boat. Thanks to the innovative stator cage technology, the ARIES 50 by MOLABO is extremely robust and will always reliably take you to your destination. The extra-low voltage keeps your drive system absolutely safe in any situation, and virtually everybody can flexibly maintain it.

    SAILING FOR CHANGE!

Southern Power & OEM Torqeedo are proud to be sponsoring the RCYC Sailing academy with fitted Torqeedo XP engine on their latest sailing Vessel Macatini.

Southern Power & OEM Torqeedo are proud to be sponsoring the RCYC Sailing academy with fitted Torqeedo XP engine on their latest sailing Vessel Macatini. The CSI program,  was created with the aim to create opportunities for previously disadvantaged youth and address the imbalance of representation of people of colour within the RCYC Club.  RCYC Sailing Academy runs its sailing programs mostly on weekends and we participate in big regattas and other races. The Academy has a variety of boats including 6 L26 boats  and 1 Lavranos 36  and undertakes sailing training during weekends and regattas. The L26 design is believed to be conducive for beginners, as the nature of it forces individual to be hands on all the times and enforces team work in many occasions. The Academy has more than 6 skippers, one Offshore Skipper and one senior instructor, who are fully qualified and experienced. The program has been very instrumental in developing and nurturing raw sailing talent and the development of new skills, team work and sportsmanship amongst our students.

Academy instructor Sibu Sizato has his Offshore Skippers ticket and has represented South Africa at World Championships. The Academy crew has competed in the 2023 Cape2Rio race on board of “Alexforbes Archangel” a Lavranos 36.  The Academy are very proud of their 3rd place result, and we encourage you to watch the documentary “UKUWELA” on this event on Showmax here >>
