Each module utilises proven conventional technology and, together, they create a revolutionary product worthy of the end users’ trust.

ENVIRONMENT

The OXE Diesel outboard engine reduces fuel consumption by over 42% compared to a modern gasoline outboard engine of equivalent horsepower. This sets new standards for internal combustion engines within the global outboard engine industry. The result is minimised impact on the environment, significantly reducing not only CO₂ but also CO, HC, and NOx emissions.

OXE 225HP

The OXE225 is equipped with a bi-turbo configuration that delivers its full 670 Nm of torque at the propeller at 2,250 RPM. Powered by a marinized diesel block, the OXE225 delivers enduring and relentless performance. It is suitable for a wide range of applications—from workhorse duties to high-speed operations—and provides revolutionary bollard-pulling power.

OXE 300HP

The most powerful engine in the OXE line up, the OXE300 is a bi-turbo configuration that provides its full 945 Nm of torque at the propeller already at 2250 RPM. The power and high torque of the marinized diesel block in the OXE300 proves for an enduring and relentless product, applicable in diverse settings as both a workhorse and a high-speed solution, as well as having revolutionary bollard pulling power.

Compared to a gasoline outboard, operational range is increased by over 60%. All OXE Diesel outboards are certified in compliance with EPA Tier III, IMO Tier II (MARPOL VI Tier 2), RCD, and BKI regulations.

UNIQUE BELT TECHNOLOGY

The patented primary belt transmission allows full range torque transfer capability without affecting the hydrodynamics of the OXE Diesel. This means that solutions that were previously only available for inboard applications can now be applied to outboard engine solutions.

The introduction of the primary belt transmission also means that the bevel gears found in most leisure products can be completely removed for a more durable and efficient solution. The belt drive allows for increased torque transfer to the propeller, as well as for smaller torpedoes and slimmer submerged modules under the waterline. The result is a design with less drag, which reduces fuel consumption and increases speed. This is in comparison with bevel gear-driven units.

VERSATILITY

The common rail turbocharged diesel engine provides high efficiency and torque. This results in powerful thrust and acceleration, with the capacity to carry heavy loads.

Fast interchangeable gear ratios allow for specific performance requirements and the powerful torque of the OXE Diesel engine to be utilized in the best possible way. This increases the versatility of the OXE Diesel further as it opens up for a smorgasbord of applications.

As the OXE Diesel is designed as an outboard package with standardized transom mounts, it is interchangeable. Service and overhauls of the OXE Diesel can thereby be performed away from the boat and the unit can simply be replaced in the meantime. This minimizes the downtime of the boat and increases the uptime for the operation.

As OXE125 – OXE200 enables clockwise and counterclockwise propeller rotation, the user is free to place the engine on any side of the stern, thus reducing the need for several spare engines to ensure redundancy. Due to the belt tensioner system in the OXE300, changing the rotation is somewhat more time-consuming.

MODULAR DESIGN

The patented belt technology enabled the team to design a robust outboard unit that effectively, and over a long lifespan, transfers high torque from automotive or industrial engines to the propeller with minimal transfer loss.

The diesel engine is mounted horizontally; the power is then transferred to the gearbox through a primary transmission. From the gearbox output, a belt transfers the power to the propeller shaft.

The engine is mounted on the adapter plate with four robust anti-vibration mountings which allow the unit to endure punishing commercial use and be quickly and easily replaced when time for overhaul. All parts are easy to access and can be replaced without having to disassemble the unit.

FUEL ECONOMY

Due to a significantly lower fuel consumption than an outboard built for the leisure market, OXE Diesel offers the user unprecedented range. The fact that OXE Diesel runs on diesel also provides the user with the ability to refuel from larger diesel-powered vessels or marine-based platforms that further increases the versatility. This greatly increases operational runtimes for operators who predominantly use diesel as the main fuel. The OXE Diesel also has great fuel economy and uses 40% less fuel than a modern, leisure, gasoline outboard.
